Update

We are finally back in AZ after two months of vacations, and although it's nice to be home and not living out of a suitcase, it didn't take me long to remember why we left for so long in the first place. It is still painfully hot down here, but I have kept myself busy thus far running errands, cleaning the house, and beginning redecoration of two of the bedrooms. I did think about blogging while I was gone, but my brain just wasn't up to it, but I promise to begin regular updates again, so don't stop checking in.

Layla is officially in her big-girl bed, and she is pretty excited about it. She does alright going to bed there in the evenings, but the last two nights she has woken up in the wee hours of the morning and climbed into bed with me. I don't mind, it's kind of comforting. After sharing a bed with her for two months I've gotten used to it, and she is very easy to sleep with.

We are also making huge strides in the potty training department. I thought that my attempts were complete failures, but all of the sudden about a week ago she decided that she wanted to start using the potty. She has gotten better every day, and yesterday she kept her pants dry all day and overnight! We still have to work on #2, but I think she has the dryness down. Let's hope it keeps up after I stop rewarding her every time it happens.

I am still pregnant, six months along now, and have been feeling pretty good. Over the past week every time someone asks when I'm due and I tell them Nov. 17, I get a look of surprise and a response like, "Wow, you look like you're due way before then." It actually doesn't bother me, though, because I tend to agree with them. Layla and I were having breakfast at McDonald's and two women walked up to me and said, "We think you look cute pregnant. It looks like you stuck a basketball up your shirt." I chose to take this as a complement. We are very excited for our baby boy, although I haven't been able to get into buying clothing for him yet. Every time I try I end up in the girl's department buying stuff that Layla doesn't need, but that is too cute to do without. He already has a Bronco's jersey, so I'm sure Ryan won't mind if he just wears that every day.

Sorry this is so long and there are no pictures. I'll include them in later posts, I just don't have any that specifically relate to this subject matter.

That's so great Layla stayed dry all day yesterday, and all night! That's awesome. Way to go Layla!

Welcome back to the heat :) We need to get together. Dena dropped off a gift for your baby at Torta Rica.

It's actually true, sticking basketballs up your shirt really does make you look cute. Sometimes I do it if I need to give an outfit that little extra something, or when I need to ward off the prematurely balding RM's roaming campus in search of their prey, excuse me, eternal companion.
