Bear Lake

Forced Family Fun (FFF). That's what Ryan (jokingly?) calls it when we spend more than 30 minutes with anyone that is related to us. He'll tell you he's been coerced, even forced, into such activities, but this weekend I found out that he secretly enjoys every minute of it. Or at least some minutes of it.

Ry had the perfect opportunity to spend some bachelor time alone in Phoenix. He had a three-day holiday weekend and no wife and kids to worry about. We saw him the weekend before and he already had his ticket to visit us the following weekend, but he still spent several hours on the phone with several people trying to work out a scenario where he could come up and be with the kids and I without spending $500 on airfare. It made me incredibly happy to realize that he'd rather be with us than anywhere else. I am one lucky lady.

Things fell into place, and we got to spend a great weekend up in Bear Lake with Mimi, Brit, Kenna, Grammy, the Lees, and other extended Critchfield family.

Layla and Berkleigh were hilarious together. They make quite a comedy team...

I've decided I never want to take a vacation without Auntie Kenna. She could keep Layla happy for days.

Layla in her element... the dirt.

Daddy and Westy on the boat.

Makenna, Layla, Me and Alex. Layla rode up front and when we went really fast she told me, "Mom! It's just like I'M skateboarding (wakeboarding), and I'm not a little girl anymore!!!"

Yep, I got up on a wakeboard for the first time in over four years. I had to let go after a few minutes, as my quads were shaking like jello. That my have had something to do with my 15 mile run that morning...

Looks like a blast! How come you have a helmet on while you're wakeboarding? Planning on doing any serious flips there? ;)

Let's just say that the owners of the boat have a LOT of rules.
