The kids and I have spent several weeks this summer enjoying Mimi and Brit's newly renovated "cabin" at Bear Lake. They have done such an incredible job on the house, making it an amazing getaway for a few days or a few weeks.
We have especially enjoyed being there with our extended family and spending time with them. I am excited for my kids to grow up with cousins their own age that will be lifelong friends, something I never had. We have had so much fun this summer with Heather, Berkleigh and Hudson and Whitney and Carson, plus Mimi, Brit, Makenna, Grammy, and many others. My favorite thing about Bear Lake is that it's close enough to Salt Lake that is is an easy trip out, but far enough away that no one has an agenda or other obligations, which makes for lazy days, great conversation, and priceless bonding.

The kids have had a blast playing in the lake, riding four-wheelers, tubing, boating, cruising on wave runners, playing air hockey, and just being kids. Layla and Berkleigh play so well together and can keep each other busy for hours. Even the boys have become great friends and it is easy to tell that they enjoy each others company. I have relished the time with Heather and Whitney, getting to know them better and swapping stories about motherhood, marriage, and the craziness of family life.

We are so grateful for the time, expense and energy that Mimi and Brit have put into making the Bear Lake house a home away from home for all of us. Our family is blessed each time we visit!
