The Visitors

To say that we have had some help since we moved to Seattle is a gross understatement. We have had many visits from both sides of the family to aide with everything from unpacking, organizing, babysitting, childbirth (as much as someone who is not in labor can actually assist in that task), cooking, cleaning, and maintaining my sanity. So to those who have visited I say thank you.

I am continually humbled when I think of what great parents Ryan and I have and am so grateful to have their examples to follow as we strive to keep our heads above water while making sure our children are fed, clothed, and not in jail. And I am beyond grateful for our siblings (and siblings in law), who are also some of our closest friends. I hope and pray that our family grows up to be as close as the ones we were born in to.

Most recently we had the pleasure of hosting Grandma, Auntie Courtney Pants and Uncle B(randon). Since Dylan was the ripe old age of five weeks and I deemed her ready to take on the world we were able to enjoy a few of Seattle's tourist offerings. We spent a day at the Experience Music Project, a museum devoted to music, Jimi Hendrix, and the evolution of the Seattle music scene. Weston loved it, especially the area where you can practice your skills on drums, guitar, keyboard, vocals and the mixer.

Grandma spent most of the time playing with the grandkids. They went to the park daily, put on puppet shows, built forts, read books, blew bubbles, colored pictures, and made several delicious treats, including the carrot cake that Weston is wearing in the second picture. She also found time to help me organize the garage, my craft room, and several piles of miscellaneous stuff that was lying around my house. Thanks Mom!

Weston tries to smile for the camera. We're working on it.

Do I have something on my face?

We also made it out to Pike Place Market one day, and enjoyed fresh picked raspberries, Russian pastries, and looking at all of the seafood, produce, flowers and crafts displayed there. We finished the day with an incredible meal at the Crab Pot, where Brandon and brandished our wooden mallets and destroyed a mountain of king crab legs. The following pictures are courtesy of Courtney's iphone because I was lazy and didn't get out my camera.

Uncle Brandon carried Dylan the whole time. Can you say chic magnet?

I am man. I eat with mallet.
