Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
With all of our running and all of our cunning
If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane

We packed a lot of livin' into our ten months in Seattle, but had to bid that emerald city adieu and return to this blistering, beige desert that is once again our home. As much as we loved the Pacific Northwest, Ryan was offered a job back with Bonneville Phoenix that we just couldn't pass up. Sort of. We almost did pass it up, actually. Here's the twenty-five cent version:
In February Ry was offered a position in Phoenix with the same group of stations he had previously worked for. It was a dream job for Ryan, and although it meant moving our family, all five of us now, for the second time in a year, we decided to accept the job. We negotiated a buy-out of our lease, scheduled the movers for April, and began saying our goodbyes and looking for a house in Arizona.
Three weeks later Ryan was offered another job, on the east coast. As luck would have it, this was also a dream job. He respectfully declined, as he had already committed to come to Phoenix. But you know how pushy those New Yorkers can be; a week later he was on a plane. The same day he flew out to meet with the people in New York running the company that he wasn't going to work for, he got another job offer. And yes, another dream job. In San Francisco. Ryan's favorite city in the world.
The following two months were probably the most mentally exhausting of my life, and I had it easy compared to Ry. By the time the kids and I left Seattle on April 11, the day the movers came and boxed up all of our stuff and loaded it into a truck, we still had no idea where we were moving. We drove out to Salt Lake, and a week later Ryan decided that the job in Phoenix would be the best for our family (I took the easy way out and told him I would support him in any decision).
The kids and I spent just over two months living with family in Salt Lake before finally leasing a house in Scottsdale and making the eleven hour drive to our new home. It was quite the journey, but we're better for it.
