If Legoland and Disneyland got in a fight, Legoland would be the scrappy little guy that no one thinks stands a chance. Then, as soon as they get down to it, Legoland is faster, smarter and obviously more concerned with winning the fight than landing the first punch. Before he knows it, Disneyland is flat on his back with a bloody nose.
For those of you lost in my convoluted metaphor, what I'm trying to say is that Legoland is WAY better than Disneyland. Granted, my kids are five, two and eleven months, but for our family it's no contest. First and foremost, there were far less people at Legoland. It is my understanding that there could be a great depression, anthrax raining from the sky, a plague of locusts and a constant stream of A-bombs from Japan and there would still be a three hour wait for Splash Mountain. Not so at LL. Aside from the mistake we made of waiting for the very first ride we saw (an hour for the Dinocoaster, whose wait thereafter was no more than 15 min), we spent less than 45 minutes in line for the rest of the day. Including bathrooms, snacks and souvenirs.
The highlight of the day was definitely the pirate ship water park. It was HUGE, and Weston, Layla, Lucy and Oliver played for over an hour without a break. There was a smaller splash pad right next to the big ship, and I let Dylan crawl around, which she LOVED. She probably drank a gallon of recirculated water but it was totally worth it.

| After six loops around the track at 3 mph they gave her a driver's license. If only it were that easy when Lanee was trying... |

| We went a little whiskey tango after the water park and let Dylan ride around in her diaper while her clothes dried. |

The rest of our trip to San Diego was awesome! We met up with some friends from Phoenix, the Edelsteins, and hung out at the beach on Friday and Saturday. Saturday night we enjoyed the weather at an incredible local park, and Sunday we took in La Jolla Cove before driving back home in time for dinner and bed.
The only complaint I have is that it was too short, although I am truly grateful that Ryan was able to take the time off that he did, as he is busier than he has ever been at work. We are already looking forward to renting a house for a week next year and having more time to relax and cool off. If you have young kids and are interested in getting a beach house next summer, let me know...

oops, my mom was logged into my computer. That comment was from me. But my mom thinks it looks fun too.
Darling! I can't believe how much Dylan has changed since I saw you guys last. Her teeth are big and she has curly little hair! I love it. :)
Either the water was warm or the outside temperature was! Go Dylan! Layla is so photogenic. Where's Ryan?
Love Legoland and San Diego! We would love to rent a beach house next year if you are still looking :) Darling pictures, I love those kiddos!
