Those of you who have toddlers will find these anecdotes less captivating, since you hear this stuff all the time, but I like to post some of the funny things Layla says for our family members who don't get to see her every day and want a peek inside her developing personality.
The other day Layla told me that I was so beautiful, like Ariel. I said she was beautiful like Ariel too. "No," she said, "I'm like Prince Eric." "You're not like Prince Eric," I replied, "he's a boy. Daddy is handsome like Prince Eric." She gave me a strange look and said, "No, Prince Eric have hair, and Daddy not have hair." Ryan overheard from the kitchen and was mildly offended, until he realized it was all true.
